31 December is deadline for:
to enter the referee refresher
clinic and to Bid for the European Championships Division B.
Referee Refresher
Clinic 2004.
The Eurozone has still places vacant for the 2004 Referee Refresher
clinic to be held in Eaubonne, France.
This is a location central
in Europe. The EuroZone Standing Technical Committee invites referees
to attend this clinic, especially referees coming from the Northern
and Western part of Europe. Of course the Committee will hold a third
clinic in 2005, but also to this clinic the number of participants is
limited to about 25 referees. This means that referees not attending
the coming clinic in Eaubonne, and coming from the Northern and
Western part of Europe could be not selected to attend the 2005
referee refresher clinic. There will be no fourth clinic organised in
the Eurozone, thus referees who want to stay on the IWBF listing as
International, and not attending the Eaubonne clinic taking the risk
not to refresh in the 2002 - 2006 period.
Contact your NOWB to get entered to the clinic in 2004.
European Championships Division B 2004
The Eurozone Standing Committee for Competitions is sad to announce
that no official Bid has been received until today. Talks are ongoing
with 2 NOWBs but this has not yet resulted in an official bid.
As mentioned in our letter to the 8 teams qualified to the Division B
Championships knock-out games will be played if the EuroZone does not
receive a Bid by 31 December 2003.
This means that each team has to travel twice and has to organise two
games in their own country, as mentioned in our letter to the NOWBs
concerned.
But it also means major costs for the participating teams. Is that
what they want, we don't believe that, and therefore we kindly asking
the 8 NOWBs to reconsider the possibilities of hosting the
Championships in your country, which also gives you major benefits as
playing for your home public, it is attractive for your sponsors and
it saves you a lot of travel costs.
For further information you always can contact the
EuroZone office, also
NOWBs not participating but willing to host this Championships.
