EuroZone Women's Development Camp
June 15-20 2004 at Eaubonne, Paris, France
Target Audience
The clinic will be for women players from any
European country, particularly from emerging Eastern European
and Scandinavian Nations. Preference will be given to females
under the age of 35, potential women players and coaches.
Rationale.
There has been a decline in women’s
involvement in International Competition since the 1994 Women’s
World Championship’s that were held in Stoke Mandeville. There
were only 3 entries for the last European Championships 2001,
which was postponed until 2002 and then cancelled. In the 2002
World Championships the European teams finished in the last 3
places. It is important for the development of the sport that
priority will be given to females under the age of 30,
particularly from emerging Eastern European and Scandinavian
Nations are encouraged to attend. Ideally 5 women from a country
plus a female leader/mentor/coach but individuals would also be
welcome.
The cost will be a
maximum of € 250 per person and NOWBs will cover the transport
costs to Paris. The EuroZone is trying to attract additional
grants from IPC and WSW to reduce the individual costs.
The EuroZone must confirm and prepay the
facilities by the end of January. We must have a reply to this
letter by latest mid January with a deposit of € 30,-- per
person.
If there is insufficient interest then the
camp will unfortunately have to be cancelled.
