After two years of forced break, the EuroCup is back

BSR Amiab Albacete crowned European Champion

The EuroCup is back with a smaller formula. 3 locations, 2 weekends, 21 teams and 34 games characterized this year’s EuroCup. The Champions Cup was held in Erfurt, Germany. Following breath-taking semi-finals, BSR Amiab Albacete was crowned European Champion after a final derby with CD Ilunion. Host RSB Thuringia Bulls closed with a bronze medal, beating Champions Cup 2021 winner RSV Lahn-Dill.

EuroCup 1, hosted in Hannover, Germany, saw BSR Amia Gran Canaria leading the gold medal game against Ilan Ramat Gan. EuroCup 2, Sassary, Italy, was instead based on a round-robin formula that saw Red Dragon Metz prevail over the opponents.

Looking forward to next year’s EuroCup, the Qualification Tournament 2023 took place in Lille, where the host LUC Lille Handibasket secured a place for the next EuroLeague 3. This tournament also signed a historical moment. For the first time, teams from Malta and Armenia participated in an EuroCup event.
