IWBF Europe Executive Council meets in Prague

Main Focus: ECMWA, European Forum and Congress 2023

IWBF Europe Executive Council members met on Friday 27th January 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic, to discuss updates and the work done by the commissions. Main topic was the European Forum and Congress, which will take place during the European Championship for Men & Women – Division A, which will take place this summer in the Netherlands.

The European Para Championship will be the stage of the European Championship for Men & Women – Division A – 2023. 10 different sports will be held at the same time, in one single event, in one city: Rotterdam. The championship, which will determine the teams that will participate in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, will take place on 8-20 August 2023.

About EPC

The European Para Championships is a multisport event. It will be staged every four years and will always be hosted by a major European city in the year preceding the Paralympic Games. At the event, 1,500 Paralympic athletes from forty-five different European countries will compete to become European Champions.

All sports that are part of the European Para Championships 2023 have a direct connection to the Road to the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Paralympic Qualifying Points can be earned during this event. Some sports even involve direct qualification for Paris 2024. By combining multiple European Para Championships on one occasion, a cross-pollination between sports federations, associations and other stakeholders will be created.
