IWBF Europe Mourns Passing of IWBF Secretary General Norbert Kucera

With Norbert, our basketball family is losing a pioneer and a visionary for whom wheelchair basketball was a true passion.

 

Norbert was an extraordinary person, with a lot of knowledge and empathy. Even as a young referee, he showed his talent and ability to inspire and win people over to our sport. As chairman of the Technical commission, he used his great knowledge to make a significant contribution to the positive, rapid development of wheelchair basketball. In his last role as Secretary General, he became the mastermind for wheelchair basketball. With his knowledge and his 24/7 commitment to wheelchair basketball, Norbert took wheelchair basketball to the next level and formed the IWBF into a modern association with a lot of power that has received great recognition from many international associations.

 

With Norbert, the IWBF is losing a great personality, a very important leader. What hurts even more is that our basketball family is losing a true friend.

 

During this difficult time, our thoughts are also with his family and friends.
