Save all the important dates for EuroCup 2022

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic EuroCup 2020 and EuroCup 2021 both had to be cancelled. With all the necessary safety restrictions, IWBF Europe was able to organize the Champions Cup 2021 among eight of the best teams in Europe. Now we want to start looking forward and begin planning for the EuroCup 2022!

IWBF Europe has the pleasure to invite all interested Clubs to enter EuroCup 2022 and also to make a bid to host a round of the competition. In the situation where much of Europe and the World is still affected by Coronavirus (Covid-19), IWBF Europe hopes that in 2022 the position will be greatly improved, and it will be possible to hold a complete EuroCup competition.

IWBF Europe will be keeping close and careful attention to developments with the pandemic throughout 2021 to make sure that we can host EuroCup 2022 safely wherever possible.

The EuroCup is the highest club competition in Europe. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate or host a round! The documents to be filled in and sent to competitions@iwbf-europe.org can be found in the official EuroCup webpage and in the download section of IWBF Europe website.

Important deadlines:

Club Entry Form: 31 July 2021 – it must be completed by all clubs
Host Bid Document & Form A – Accommodation Information: 31 July 2021
Request of a Wildcard: 1 August 2021
Team Statement submitted by Clubs: 1 December 2021

As no ranking points have been awarded in the last two years, the ranking from the EuroCup 2019 will be used to place clubs into the preliminary rounds for the next competition. The EuroCup is composed of the Champions League, three EuroLeagues and a qualification tournament.

The Host Club will be notified no later than 30 August 2021, while the allocation of participants to preliminary rounds will be announced no later than 31 October 2021.

Competition dates:

Preliminary Rounds Champions League: Thursday 3 – Sunday 6 February 2022
Preliminary Rounds Euroleague and Quarter Finals Champions League: Thursday 10 – Sunday 13 March 2022
Finals Euroleague: Thursday 21 – Sunday 24 April 2022
Final 4 Champions League: Thursday 5 – Sunday 8 May 2022
