2026 EuroCup & the IWBF Europe International Coach Camp
A great few days with lots learning, inspiration and interaction
During the EuroCup 3 group stage in Arnhem, the Netherlands, IWBF Europe hosted the 2026 IWBF Europe International Coach Camp at the national Olympic & Paralympic training centre Papendal. Coaches from eight different countries participated enthusiastically, each bringing their own experiences but all eager to learn and develop.
On Thursday, Irene Sloof introduced the coaches to the concepts of goal setting and motor learning methods in a classroom session. Interactive discussions demonstrated the group’s eagerness to gain knowledge and explore how these ideas could be applied within their own training environments at home. During the second session, held in the gym, the theory was translated into practice. Learn and apply.
On Friday, Josef Jaglowski inspired the coaches throughout the day by sharing a wealth of knowledge. Working with a group of young players, he demonstrated in real time the concepts he was teaching. Drawing on his many years of experience and his work with various teams, Josef provided practical examples of basic 1-on-1 situations and progressively built towards the principles of team defense and offense.
On Friday evening and Saturday morning, the group watched several Euro Cup 3 games. The coaches were given the assignment to prepare a scouting report, as if they were preparing themselves and their team to compete against those opponents. This led to insightful discussions during the following coaching session in the gym.
The closing of the Coach Camp highlighted how valuable it is to invest time in learning, observing the game, and interacting with fellow coaches to share experiences and build a strong international network.
A special thank you to Josef Jaglowski for all the work and inspiration, Basketball Experience Netherlands for hosting the weekend, and to all the coaches who invested their time in becoming a better coach today then they were yesterday.
