Recap of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games
Gold for Netherlands’s women and Bronze for Great Britain’s men
The European zone was represented by 8 national teams at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Germany and Great Britain competed in both women and men’s competitions. Spain and the Netherlands joined them in the women’s competition, while Turkey in the men’s competition.
Astonishing and breath-taking wheelchair basketball games were on stage at the Ariake Arena and at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza from August 25th to September 5th. After a twelve-day competition, two were the medals that were brought back to Europe. Women’s Netherlands claimed the Gold, while Men’s Great Britain the Bronze.
4th place for Germany in the women’s competition, after losing the semifinal against the Netherlands. Spain succeeded against Great Britain in the 7th place match.
The men’s bronze medal game saw Great Britain winning against Spain and claiming the 3rd place. Turkey closed the competition at the 6th place, while Germany at the 7th.
